Russia’s Foreign Policy Concept only mentions Armenia in EAEU context

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Russia’s new Foreign Policy Concept mentions Armenia only once, in the context of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation was approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 30.

 

“Russia considers the key task to be the deepening and expansion of integration with Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in the frames of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), with the purpose of sustainable development, comprehensive technological renewal, cooperation, increase of competitive ability of economies and the standard of life in EAEU member states,” the document reads.

 

The Concept notes that Russia stands for settlement of the NK conflict “in collaboration with other OSCE Minsk Group co-chair states and on the base of the principles established in Joint Statements of the Presidents of Russia, USA and France made in 2009-2013.”
