Armenian and Russian Defense Ministers sign agreement on united group of troops

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Defense Ministers of Russia and Armenia Sergey Shoigu and Vigen Sargsyan signed the agreement on creation of the United Group of Armenian and Russian Troops in Caucasian region of the Collective Security in Moscow today.

The press service of Russian Defense Ministry informed that the group will include the 102nd Russian military base stationed in Armenia and units of Armenian Armed Forces.

 

In particular, the group’s main task will be covering the land areas of the state borders of Russian in Armenia, also in collaboration with the forces and means of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

 

The heads of Russian and Armenian Defense Ministries also approved the Cooperation plan for 2017.
