Yerevan /Mediamax/. Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan said that "Turkey should be kept as far away as possible from the process of the NK issue settlement”.

He said this, while making comments for the Public TV Company of Armenia on the statement, which Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu made regarding the NK issue settlement at PACE.

“Turkish Foreign Minister’s yet another attempt to misinterpret the negotiation process on the NK issue proves once again what our side has often stated - Turkey should be kept as far away as possible from the process of settlement. As for Turkish Foreign Minister’s statement regarding normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations, if Ankara really wants to normalize relations with Armenia, they would have ratified and honoured the Armenia-Turkey Protocols signed in 2009 in Zurich,” Shavarsh Kocharyan said.

Mevlut Cavusoglu stated the following at PACE on October 12:

“Russia made rather sensible offers, which is withdrawal of Armenians from the five occupied regions of Azerbaijan. This option is being discussed. In case these measures are taken, I hope that the issue will be settled, and Azerbaijan also wants it to be settled. Turkey in its turn wants to normalize relations with Armenia.”
