President Aliyev, tell me about “better life”

Hello, President Aliyev.

You might remember me. We met in Baku in June 2009. I was part of the delegation of Armenian and Azerbaijani representatives, who visited Stepanakert, Yerevan and Baku in one day at the initiative of the ambassadors of Armenia and Azerbaijan to Russia.

At that meeting, I suggested that you maintain the policy of "small steps" and, for example, follow the example of Turkey, whose filmmakers regularly take part in the Golden Apricot film festival in Yerevan despite the absence of diplomatic relations between their country and Armenia. You responded with a resolute refusal.

Almost every day you speak with foreign media outlets via video calls and give interviews, in which you declare your readiness to “guarantee the rights” of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and provide them with “better living conditions”.

Since no one in Armenia and Artsakh believes these words, I propose an interview via a video call, during which we will talk about this and other issues. We can broadcast the interview live - I am certain it will be of interest to the citizens of both our countries.

By the way, in November 2008 we did an interview with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov with the help of your assistant Hikmet Hajiyev, who was then Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry.

Since both you and Mr. Hajiyev are active Twitter users, you can address your respond to my proposal to the Twitter account of Mediamax.

I hope you are ready to speak with a representative of the nation you promise “a better life”.
